Deanna Bowen makes auto-ethnographic work that traces Black presence, migration, and family lineage across the Black Prairie pioneers, Creek Negroes, All-Black towns of Oklahoma, and the Exoduster migrations. Her research-driven practice spans photography and visual art, with pieces including Night Prowl (2019) at CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre Plaza.
