Janice George is a member of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation, a hereditary chief, and a practitioner of traditional Coast Salish wool weaving. She co-founded L'hen Awtxw Weaving House and organized the inaugural Canada Northwest Coast Weavers Gathering; her work Blanketing the City IV sits in Cathedral Square Park.
