Babak Golkar grew up in Tehran before moving to Canada in 1996 and is now based in Vancouver. He co-founded the artistic duo Alibaba Conundrum with Ali Ahadi, and in 2022 became the first international Jameel Fellow at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, researching parts of the collection.
